Summary: I have a functioning E-10. It is a dream. Acceleration to 70 MPH is swift. It re-defines the meaning of quiet. Regen works fine. The batteries are old, but at a cost of $250, I won't complain.
I am in the process to bringing 3 each of an E-10 back to life. Pictures Here. Sales inquiry's welcome.
Plan of Action for getting the E-10's running.
Magne Charger - This is the paddle charger.
Drive Electronics - This is the battery, motor controller, and the AC motors.
Peripheral Electronics - This is the fused electrical branches that power the power steering pump, heater, air conditioning and 12 volt system.
Unknown Components - There are a couple of hardware differences between the vehicles.
Electrical Schematic (PowerSchematic and Control Schematic). A electrical schematic of the Solectria Force is here. The E-10 is different in that there are 2 controllers.
Battery test points. I went to the trouble of installing test points on the front and rear battery boxes. With this arrangement, I can measure individual battery voltages, and charge individual batteries if necessary, without opening the battery boxes. I have 7 batteries in the front battery box, hence 8 test points. Small gauge wires connect to the batteries.
I had incorrectly assumed that having more that 1 truck would make things easier. Not true. It has sharpened my eye for differences and for clarifying why the difference. I can only assume that the trucks went through some "improvements" when in the hands of the USAF.
